Liverpool striker Sadio Mane has been named in Senegal's World Cup qualifying squad for early next month despite being ruled out until late November with a hamstring injury which has sparked concern from the English side.

The 25-year-old was last month ruled out of action for six weeks which means he won't return until late in November.

However, Mane has been named in the Senegal squad for their crunch Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying double-header against South Africa on November 10 and 14 by coach Aliou Cisse.

The decision by Senegal coach has put the country and the club on a collision course as the decision has sparked concern Liverpool who have been forced to rule out the player from their league matches.

Yet Senegal want to use him for their matches when the Reds have reluctantly held back using the player to ensure he recovers fully.

Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, will be alarmed at claims made by Aliou Cisse, the Senegal coach, about Mane being “100 per cent fit” for the games on November 10 and 14.

Liverpool star Sadio Mane picked up the injury during Senegal’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over the Cape Verde Islands during the international break.

The 25-year-old, who suffered an injury during the Teranga Lions 2-0 win over Cape Verde in Praia, missed the Reds 0-0 draw against Manchester United and the 7-0 thrashing of Maribor.

But the west African giants’ boss has dispelled rumours the talismanic midfielder will miss the doubleheader against Stuart Baxter’s side and says he is expected to be fit for both games.
