Former England and now manager of ambitious Chinese side Steve Goran Eriksson is refusing to confirm if his side have secured the services of Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan.

Gyan has spent four glittering seasons with Al Ain where he topped the goal scoring chart on three occasions.

He however endured his most difficult season with the Royals this past season with injuries restricting his impact on the field.

The combination of injuries and a mega offer from ambitious Chinese side has seen Al Ain decide to cash in on him.

But when Eriksson who is head coach of Shanghai SIPG was quizzed over the imminent arrival of Gyan he decided to remain coy as the final pieces of the mouthwatering deal is put together.

“I will not comment on Gyan today because my focus is on the game and this press conference is not the appropriate place to discuss it. I need all my 20 players focused on the match."

Gyan is expected to finalize the details of the Chinese move by Wednesday.
