Sochaux coach Hervé Renard says he is expecting a lot from new signing Jordan Ayew as the club battle relegation in the French top-flight.

The Ghana international has joined Les Lionceaux on a six-month loan deal from Olympique Marseille.

Renard, the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner with Zambia, has told the 22-year-old to take the opportunity to revive his career.

Ayew made only seven starts in 16 Ligue 1 appearances before the winter break.

"Jordan is a winner. For a workaholic like himself, eighteen goals in half a season is a feasible goal. I'm sure he will succeed, " Renard told L'Equipe.

Ayew has scored one goal this season.
