Sochaux coach Herve Renard defends goal-shy Jordan Ayew

Sochaux coach Herve Renard is backing Ghana striker Jordan Ayew to find his scoring boots after a recent barren spell.

The on-loan Marseille player is yet to score his first goal since joining the struggling French Ligue 1 side in January.

But the 22-year-old has been assertive upfront in the six appearances made for the club.

”Jordan is on track, what is important is to get results. He just came from OM and this is not the same club, same playing style and same context,” Renard told Le Phoceen

“He always makes a smart move and sacrifice for collective team effort. Maybe he wants to do too much at times but he has a good feeling.”

Ayew was made in the three-man shortlist for Sochaux’s player of the month for Janaury but was beaten to award by Stoppila Sunzu.
