Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah is saddened by the tragic accident that hit Asante Kotoko on Wednesday killing one and leaving several players with various degree of injuries.

The Porcupine Warriors were returning to Kumasi from Accra after their Ghana Premier League clash with Inter Allies, a game they lost by a lone goal.

And Kwasi Appiah, himself a former player of Kotoko, is saddened by the development, sharing his condolences and sympathising with the club.

"The accident of Kotoko is a massive blow. I am in the States monitoring some few players but I must confess I am down with the development.

"My condolences to the bereaved family and the Kotoko fraternity and I wish the injured a speedy recovery," Kwasi Appiah noted.

Assistant Equipment Officer of the club, Kofi Asare died through the accident with head coach Steve Pollack, midfielders Ashitttey Olennu and Baba Mahama suffering serious injuries.

Recent reports are, however, that all the injured are responding to treatment positively.
