Solomon Asante provides vital assist to help TP Mazembe to Katanga derby win
Asante excelled in the Katanga derby

Solomon Asante provided an assist while Yaw Frimpong and Daniel Nii Adjei played their part to help TP Mazembe to a 2-1 win over Saint Eloi Lupopo in the Katanga derby clash on Wednesday.

Asante who lasted 84 minutes provided the assist for Jonathan Bolingi to clinch the winner in the 78th minute.

Roger Assale had given the visitors the lead after 35 minutes but it wad cancelled with a 63rd minute strike by Mungali.

The diminutive Ghanaian winger was taken off for Adama Traore in an attempt by the TP Mazembe coach to shore up his midfield with six minutes of play left after Daniel Nii Adjei had been brought on for Given Singuluma.

Yaw Frimpong however lasted the entire duration at right-back with Gladson Awako an unused substitute.
