Ghana winger Solomon Asante scored and gave an assist to help TP Mazembe record a stunning 3-1 win over Al Hilal Omdurman to ease into the semi finals of the CAF Champions League.

The Congolese giants were however made to work for the vital win and had to wait until the 27th minute to open the scoring.

Rainford Kalaba fired the hosts into the lead having been played through on goal by Solomon Asante.

The Ghana international got his reward for his tireless efforts by scoring Mazembe’s second in the 60th to give the side the much needed breathing space to entertain their partying crowd.

Adama Traore then put the result beyond any doubt by scoring the third for Patrice Cateron’s side.

Al Hilal however got a face-saving goal at the depth but served only as a consolation.

TP Mazembe thus confirmed their place in the semi finals with one game to spare as they sit at the top of Group A with 10 points – three more than rivals Vita Club who have two games in hand.
