South African side Orlando Pirates have denied that they are on the verge of signing Ghana midfield powerhouse Edwin Gyimah from rivals SuperSport United.

Despite claims from sources close to the player suggesting to Ghanasoccernet.com that Gyimah has agreed to join Orlando Pirates, the club have denied that they have signed the Ghanaian defender.

The insider revealed that the 24-year-old had agreed to join the Buccaneers ahead of the 2015/2015 campaign.

However, Pirates officials have told Soccer Laduma that they have not signed the SuperSport United defender.

SuperSport sent the Ghanaian international to Mpumalanga Black Aces on loan for the 2014/2015 season, helping them secure 10th spot in the Absa Premiership.

Gyimah made a total of 23 appearances for AmaZayoni, which included 22 starts in the league campaign, while he also found the back of the net on one occasion.

Despite the conflicting reports, it remains to be seen if a deal will take place.
