Mamelodi Sundowns Set To Register Goalkeeper Today!

South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to finalize the registration for their Ghanaian goalkeeper Razak Brimah today, just one day before the CAF deadline date, Soccer Laduma has reported.

As confirmed earlier today on Soccer Laduma, Sundowns’ Brazilian defender, Ricardo Nascimento, has been ruled out of action for the rest of the year, which means that Masandawana could opt against registering the player for the 2017/18 campaign for now.

Not registering Nascimento means that Sundowns now have one free foreign quota spot, with the Brazilians expected to add their shot-stopper, Brimah Razak to their books.

Siya sources have since confirmed that Razak has not been registered yet, however indications are that the process will be finalised today, August 10, with the shot-stopper expected to be registered for both the domestic and continental competitions.

As previously revealed on Soccer Laduma, Sundowns are in a race against time to register players for the CAF Champions League campaign, with the deadline day scheduled for Friday, August 11.

Indications are that the Chloorkop-based club are set to make an announcement regarding the likes of Razak, as Head Coach Pitso Mosimane looks to bolster his squad to defend the team’s CAF Champions League title.

Sundowns will get their domestic campaign underway on Sunday, August 13, when they host Maritzburg United in the 2017 edition of the MTN8 competition.
