The South African under-20 women's national team (Basetsana) has completed preparations ahead of their second round, first leg tie of the Fifa under-20 women's World Cup qualifiers against Ghana on Saturday.

Basetsana take on Ghana on Saturday at the Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton.

The tournament will be held in Japan from September 18 to October 13.

Basetsana defeated the Diambars under-15 boys side 2-1 in a training match played in Sunwood Park on Thursday.

Striker Jermaine Sepoesenwe is a doubtful starter for Saturday after picking up an injury, while the good news is that the influential Robyn Moodaly has recovered from her injury and could be in the starting 11.

Basetsana head coach Sheryl Botes said the team was ready for the challenge, with all her players raring to go.

"Preparations have gone well and we're ready for Ghana. Jermaine has pickedup an injury but she is being closely monitored by the medical team, and should she not be successful in the fitness tests tonight (Friday), we have competent players in the squad to take her place," Botes said.

"We've learnt a lot from observing the qualification matches our juniors (SA under-17) played against Ghana. We are aware that we need to score as many goals as possible in the home leg, because we know it will be tougher when we play them on their home turf."
