Southampton boss Puel to pounce for upset PSG attacker Ben Arfa

Southampton boss Claude Puel is ready to pounce for Hatem Ben Arfa.

The midfielder is set to quit PSG at the end of this season after hitting out at coach Unai Emery.

"I did not think it would be so complicated when I came to Paris. I do not claim anything here. Neither game time nor a specific position. It's just that I want to be given a chance. I am a competitor, a champion. I like to win. It's difficult to accept being a substitute," rapped Ben Arfa.

Puel is watching developments closely, having helped the midfielder rebuild his career at Nice.

The Saints boss wanted to sign Ben Arfa last summer before PSG stepped in and remains keen on the ex-Newcastle attacker.
