Rudi Garcia’s future with Roma could be determined by Saturday night’s result against AC Milan, with Luciano Spalletti reportedly on standby for a return to the capital.
Following a disappointing 3-3 draw against Chievo on Wednesday, the Giallorossi have won just once in their last nine fixtures and a victory over the Rossoneri may well be the Frenchman’s only saving grace.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Spalletti is awaiting a decision which could pave the way for a return to the position he held from 2005 -2009, before he undertook a five-year stint with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.
Though with offers coming in from China and Russia, which have been rejected thus far, the 56-year-old is still said to be willing to resist outside approaches until Saturday evening when the Roman’s may need to make a decision.
If the Lupi do manage to secure a win, it is believed Spalletti will proceed to explore opportunities away from the capital.
