Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone will make Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey as a key part of his plans for next season after returning from a loan stint.

This comes after two Spanish top-flight teams Getafe and Rayo Vallecano both expressed interest in signing the Ghanaian talented midfielder.

However the 22-year-old has been made to join the Atletico Madrid first team for the pre-season training indicating their desire to make him a key part of coach Diego Simeone's plans.

Partey has been with Atletico since 2011, but has not yet made his first-team debut for the Spanish giants.

Last season, the Ghana midfielder scored four league goals in 31 games for Almeria and proved to be one of the most impressive performers in the second half of the campaign.

According to AS, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano both made enquiries over a move this summer, but both were informed that Thomas would be required at Atletico during the 2015-16 season.

Thomas could fill Mario Suarez's spot in the squad, with the Spaniard strongly linked with a move to Serie A.
