Headline sponsors of the FA Cup competition, MTN, will be supporting this season’s winner with the cash sum of GHS 60,000 (just over $15, 387) for their ensuing African campaign.

This was announced at a press soiree hosted by the MTN FA Cup Committee on Tuesday to primarily announce the venue for the final and also reveal other unique packages for the August 30 final.

Asante Kotoko will be looking to defend the trophy they won last season against Medeama at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi.

And aside the GHS 40,000 cash prize for the winner plus a 25% share of the total gate proceeds, the FA Cup Committee announced that an amount of GHS 60,000 is being put aside to aid the new champions in their ensuing African campaign.

“MTN will be giving GHS 60,000 to the winner for their African campaign,” Kofi Poku, a member of the FA Cup Committee announced.

This has been a feature of the MTN FA Cup competition since its return from a ten-year hiatus.

The incentive is however given to Ghana’s representative to the CAF Confederation Cup.

Both Kotoko and Medeama are in with a good chance of receiving this cash incentive since they are unlikely to win the Premier League to see them qualify for the CAF Champions League.
