Ghana's Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has revealed inheriting a debt toll of GHC51m from the previous administration after assuming office a little over a year ago.

At his maiden Meet the Press session held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Information, the outspoken Sport Minister revealed that he inherited a bleeding account that was crying for help from the previous Minister Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye.

Responding to questions from the media, particularly on how much money he met in office, the Minister smile, looked at his accountant and Deputy Minister before revealing the shocking news to the media.

"I am sorry to report to you that we met a negative balance of GHC51m, that is the debt we inherited," he said.

"There was nothing at the Ministry of Youth and Sports," he added.

He added that his outfit saw the negative balance as a challenge and had to device ways of reviving the Ministry than complaining and shouting to the media.

He stressed that he was working hard to solve all the current challenges at the MOYS with the help of his staff.

"All these things that have been able to happen are through creative minds that's what has happened here. So if we have been able to achieve a lot, that is why I am grateful to my able lieutenants, they are creative people and they are helping us to achieve a lot at the Ministry of Youth and Sports".

"As it's said, you come and fix challenge, so we are fixing the challenge through creative means," he stated.

Following the revelation by the Sports Minister, several questions have popped up questioning the core responsibilities of his predecessor Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye, who signaled the whole country of being the no.1 patriot by reducing the Black Stars bonuses as well as denying several national football teams their tournament entitlements.

Hon. Nii Lante did not only reduce the bonuses of the Black Stars with the view of generating funds for the Ministry buts also claimed he cut down expenditure by other federations to save cash for his outfit - something he never did and has come to light through his successor.

Hon. Isaac Asiamah is gradually weaving his way into the hearts of many Ghanaians following his hardwork and strategic renovation and upgrading of sporting infrastructure in the country - a feat Hon. Nii Lante failed to chalk.
