Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah cuts sod for the construction of Youth and Sports center at Nyinahin in Ashanti Region

Ghana's Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah has on Monday cut a sod for the construction of the Youth and Sports facility in Nyinahin in the Ashanti Region.

This is the 4th sod-cutting exercise that is seeing a renaissance in the construction of sports facilities all over the country to give sports development a rebirth.

The sod-cutting train started in the Volta Region before zooming to the Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The train landed Axim in the Western Region on Saturday and will see the exercise commencing in the Ashanti Region on Monday (Today).

These multipurpose Youth and Sports Centres are being constructed in all the 10 Regions of the country.

The project will have a 5000 (expandable) capacity FIFA standard stadium, an 8-lane tartan track, a multipurpose sports court and an ICT Resource Centre.

The other facilities are a Youth Counseling Centre, a gym and a modern restaurant.
