Black Stars players at the World Cup.

The Sports Ministry has slashed the winning bonus package for Ghana’s squad at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations by reducing it from $10,000 to $5,000, according to local reports.

According to the new proposal, each player will receive a flat match appearance fee of US$ 5,000 per game at every level including the Group, Knockout and medal stages.

Also, the squad would be rewarded US$ 60,000 if they win the tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Officials of the team which include management committee members will earn 30% of what the players will earn.

At the last tournament in South Africa, the budget included a US$ 10,000 for winning a match at the Group stage and US$ 15,000 in the semi-finals.

The reviewed financial package is what has delayed the 2015 AFCON budget.

Ghana begin their campaign on 19 January in Mongomo against Senegal before engaging Algeria and South Africa.
