Spurs boss hails Harry Kane - ‘One of the best strikers in Europe’

Mauricio Pochettino was not short on praise for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane on Sunday.

The 23-year-old striker took his Premier League season tally to 17 with a hat-trick in the dominant 4-0 victory over Stoke City at White Hart Lane, prompting these words from the boss.

“[Kane scored] a fantastic hat-trick and it was a fantastic performance," he told Sky Sports.

“He's one of the best strikers in Europe and I'm very pleased for him because he deserves it.

"He has big potential and lots of room to improve. He's still very young but his mentality is the best thing that he has. He works hard every day, he is professional and he is a top player."

The hat-trick was Kane's fourth in the Premier League for Spurs - club record - adding to last weekend's treble against Fulham in the FA Cup. He has three hat-tricks in all competitions so far in 2017.

Kane has now also notched 100 goals in club football, 84 of which have come for Spurs, with the other 16 scored for Millwall (9), Leyton Orient (5) and Leicester City (2).
