West Ham United have benched their in-form playmaker Andre Ayew for Friday's clash with Leicester City despite the Ghanaian's recovery from illness.

Ayew has recovered from the illness which sidelined him at Watford last weekend and it was thought because of his top form he would start the game.

However, West Ham United boss David Moyes has made just one change to his team for Friday night's game against Leicester City, with Arthur Masuaku selected in the starting XI.

Mark Noble is the man to move to the bench, where he is joined by Andre Ayew, who returns to the squad following illness.

Marko Arnautovic is fit to retain his starting berth, after he suffered a hand injury at Watford, and Andy Carroll is up-front.

Winston Reid captains the side in Noble's absence, and he partners Angelo Ogbonna at the back, with Pablo Zabaleta and Aaron Cresswell at full-back.

West Ham United: Hart, Zabaleta, Reid (c), Ogbonna, Cresswell, Obiang, Kouyate, Arnautovic, Lanzini, Masuaku, Carroll Subs: Adrian, Sakho, Noble, Ayew, Fernandes, Quina, Rice

Leicester City: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan (c), Maguire, Fuchs, Ndidi, Iborra, Albrighton, Mahrez, Gray, Vardy Subs: Hamer, Chilwell, Iheanacho, King, Dragovic, Slimani, Okazaki
