Stephen Abugri aims to qualify Okwahu United back to Ghana Premier League

Newly appointed Okwahu United coach Stephen Abugri is confident he can qualify the club back to the elite division.

Abugri has joined the soccer mountaineers on a two-year deal after he was sacked by King Faisal last month.

The Nkawkaw -based side have failed on countless occasions to qualify to the Premier League after they were relegated in 2007.

But coach Abugri, who masterminded Faisal's return to the top-flight after just a year in the lower division is confident he can replicate that feat at the club.

“Nothing is impossible. If I could do it with King Faisal, then I have no doubt I can also do it with Okwahu.

“I just signed the deal and so will need to settle down, look at the players we have and then take it from there.

“I love challenges and so I believe we can qualify if we work hard and put our minds to it."

United were demoted to the Ghana Division Three League, fined 5 thousands  Ghana cedis while 11 players of the team’s players and five technical officials were banned for a year for playing a fix game against Nania FC in 2007 in a game which saw them lose 30-0.
