Stephen Appiah rules out Ghana return

Retired Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has reiterated that his decision to quit international football is irreversible as he seeks to focus on club football.

"You know the kind of guy (person) I am. I always say I live in a real world. Some people gave us the chance, they pave the way for us and we did our best and we also have to do the same thing. With all the problems I had in the past, now I want to concentrate on my club and see what will happen," Appiah told the BBC.

The 29-year-old joined newly-promoted Serie A side Cesena last month and wants to make a fresh start in his career.

Appiah is fit to make his club debut on the opening weekend of the Italian top flight at AS Roma on Saturday.
