Stevanovic tipped to end Ghana drought

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng says coach Goran Stevanovic is the man to end the country's 30-year trophy drought.

The Black Stars are gunning for their fifth Africa Cup of Nations title next month as they fight for their first continental title since 1982.

The Dnipro ace's international career has been revived under the Serb who was appointed in January 2011.

Boateng believes Stevanovic's tactical ingenuity and man-management style can win trophies for Ghana.

"Before we play a game, he tells us that victory is for us and we shouldn't care about other results and that is for him. This is something only few coaches will tell you as a player," Boateng told MTNFootball.com.

"He talks to me about my family and I can say he is the right man for football and the national team.

"He is always hugging players and he shows you that he loves and respects you."

The 28-year-old has been one of the key players in Stevanovic's midfield and he will be heavily relied upon at the Nations Cup final which begins next month in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Stevanovic won six matches, lost twice and drawn once since his appointment.
