The Black Stars right back lasted the entire duration of the game as he made brilliant tackles to stop the dangerous Wolfsburg attack.
Opare who had a difficult experience against league leaders Bayern Munich a week ago lifted his performance to aid his side to pick their second win in their last 5 Bundesliga appearances.
The visitors drew first blood through striker Daniel Didavi five minutes before the break.
The home side lifted their game and responded with the equalizer through Gregoritsch just 5 minutes after the break before Finnbogason increased the tally for them in the 78 minute after setting up the equalizer.
Opare who is noted for his aggressive play stopped the visitors attack on numerous occasions and avoided the referee’s caution to mark end of a good game.
Reports in England are saying that Premier League side Stoke City are planning to make a £2.5m bid for the Augsburg defender in the winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has refused to sign a new deal, leaving the Bundesliga side determined to cash on him in January rather than lose him on a free over the summer.
