Striker Amoah repels comparison with former Heereveen striker Bas Dost

Ghana striker Matthew Amoah has watered down comparison with former Heerenveen striker Bas Dost.

The 31-year-old was signed to replace Dost who left the club to join German side VfL Wolfsburg after winning the Eredivisie top scorer prize last season.

Dost, 23, scored 32 goals from 34 matches and there could be pressure on Amoah to replicate his scoring feat.

"I am Amoah, and he is Dost Dost," he said.

"Not because I cannot contain pressure, but because we have two very different strikers."

Amoah is a household name in the Dutch Eredivisie where has raked in a total of 114 goals for four different clubs.

He returned to Holland after signing a one-year-contract from Turkish side Mersin early this month.

Heerenveen will play in next season's UEFA Europa League.
