Striker Asamoah Gyan to mark Black Stars return against China

Striker Asamoah Gyan is set to play his first match for Ghana on Wednesday since rescinding his retirement decision last month.

The Al AIn ace has been listed in Ghana's 18-man squad to face China in Xi'an, Shaanxi province.

Gyan last played for the Black Stars in February this year at the Africa Cup of Nations in a painful 1-0 defeat to Zambia.

He later took an indefinite break from international football after suffering several scathing attacks for missing a penalty in the match.

Gyan requested for some time off after missing two important spot-kicks in two years-first at the World Cup and then the Nations Cup.

He was persuaded to rescind his decision by Ghana FA officials and family members.

The 26-year-old announced his return by claiming he had recovered from the psychological pains and ready to lead the attack for the four-time African champions.

His return is a massive boost for Ghana ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi in September.
