Asante Kotoko striker Abdul Aziz Yusif has confirmed his departure from the club and reveals he will be signing for Egyptian club Ismaily.

The 22-year-old has lasted less than two seasons with the Premier League champions, arriving from Real Tamale United.

Aziz had struggled to establish himself as the undisputed first choice striker for the Porcupine Warriors since his arrival.

He now wants to move for greener pastures with an opportunity from Egyptian club Ismaily.

It is unclear of Kotoko have agreed to the move but the striker is getting set to leave the country to undergo medicals, discuss personal terms and sign a contract with the Egyptian side.

“Yes, I am leaving Kotoko to Club Ismaily in Egypt,” he confirmed to Metro FM.

“I am going for medicals, once I pass, I will join them [Ismaily].

“Discussions over the duration of the contract and personal terms will be discussed when I get there.

“I don’t want the Kotoko fans to be angry with my decision but rather to understand that in football, players have to take their chances as and when they come.”
