Ghana striker David Accam says he would have loved to make his Black Stars debut under sacked coach Kwesi Appiah.

Accam was spotted by Appiah but was never given the opportunity to strut his stuff in a competitive match after four call-ups.

The Helsingborg striker was named in Kwesi Appiah’s provisional 26-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup but failed to make the final squad.

He was also invited by Kwesi Appiah for his last two matches in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo but was unused.

Accam admits he would have loved to play a little under the man who spotted him.

“Well I have been given a lot of calls up in recent times but would have loved to play a bit more,” the 22-year-old said.

“But sometimes as a young striker you have to bid for your time but in that same vein every footballers dream is to play for his national team.”

Accam currently leads the Swedish Allsvenskan with 14 goals.
