Striker Emmanuel Baffour is backing his former New Edubiase colleagues to win the MTN Ghana FA cup title at the expense of Ashantigold.

The 23-year-old will not be involved in the fixture at the Accra Sport stadium on Sunday after signing for South African side Mamemoli Sundowns last month.

Edubiase have scored 11 times and yet to concede a goal in the competition so far and their former leading marksman is confident coach Anthony Commey’s men can clinch the ultimate.

“It is unfortunate that some of us will not be around but I believe that the club has enough quality players to finish off the job,” Baffour said

“I have spoken with some of my former colleagues and they are very determined to end on a high,”

“We have to win for our founder Hon. David Lamptey, the management and fans for their support over the period,”

“I will urge them to concentrate on the game and make themselves proud.”

The Adansi derby is attracting a lot of interest in Ghana with the right to represent the country in the Confederations Cup next season high on the agenda.

Edubiase beat the miners 1-0 in the Premier League at home and lost the reverse fixture 2-1 at Obuasi last season.
