Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure must fend off competition from Emmanuel Clottey and Gladson Awako for the Ghana Premier League Best Player award for the just ended season.

The Ivorian joined the Porcupine Warriors for the second half of last season and played a pivotal role to lift the club from the throes of relegation to finish third.

This and other categories were revealed at the awards launch on Wednesday at the premises of Auto Plaza (sponsors of the champions award of a 12-seater van).

Obed Nana Kwame Nketia will be hoping to bag the Best CEO award after guiding Berekum Chelsea to their first league triumph.

He however faces competition from Kotoko's Executive Chairman Dr. KK Sarpong and Hearts of Oak Chief Executive Fred Crentsil.

Seidu Bomison Jnr, Patrick Kyeremanteng and Thomas Nunoo will be contesting the Best Referee Award

Assistants AS Malik, David Laryea and Alex Anning have also been shortlisted.

The season's best gloves man will be contested between Aduana Stars' Stephen Adams, Ernest Sowah of Berekum Chelsea and Hearts of Oak's Sammy Adjei.

Edward Kpodo, Amos Frimpong and Rashid Sumaila will contest in the Best Defender category while Anthony Komey, Abubakar Yusif and Prof Kwame Nketia are in the race for the Best Coach award.

The Best Behaved Team award will be contested by Liberty Professionals, Wa All Stars and Real Tamale United.

Striker Nana Poku faces no contest for the Goal King crown after bagging in 16 goals.

Awards will also be given to GFA Employees of the Season, GFA/PLB Cameraman and the Best Match Commissioner for the 2010/2011 season

The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, 13 August in Accra.
