Striker Abdul Majeed Waris is determined to impress in Ghana colours ahead of  next month’s international friendly against China.

The 20-year-old will get a second chance to impress head coach Kwesi Appiah after an electric season at Swedish side BK Hacken.

The former Right to Dream graduate has hogged the headlines in the cuntry’s top-flight League with 13 goals in 15 matches and will be an exciting addition to the side for the friendly against the Asian side.

Coach Kwesi Appiah went to the European country last month to monitor the in-form striker and has decided to give him a shot at the international level for the second time.

“He came to watch me and I believe he was happy with my output. We spoke after the game and obviously he was happy with my performance,” Waris told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“He advised me to work on some few lapses. He also advised me to work hard and continue with my progress,”

“Luckily I have been invited for the friendly against China. The Ghanaian authorities are in talks with my club and I believe they will allow me to represent my country,”

“I am really looking forward to the game and hopefully when I get the chance, I will do my best not to disappoint.”

The Catania-target will be anxious to seize the opportunity after he failed to shine in his debut  against Chile in a friendly in February.

He became the first Ghanaian to hit a quintet in a League game abroad against Norrköping in May.
