Bees attacked the match ahead of kick-off

Ghanaian duo Abeiku Ainooson and Kennedy Ashia had their Sudanese Premier League debuts delayed after a bee invasion at the league centre on the opening day.

Al Hilal were billed to face Hilal Kadougli away but a huge swarm of bees attacked the stadium in Kadougli minutes before kick-off.

The match has been postponed to Wednesday.

Ainooson was named in the starting line-up but Ashia was among the substitutes.

The swarm of bees attacked the Sudanese football match with beekeepers having to be called to clear the hive.

The incident happened at Morta Stadium in the city of Kadogli west of Sudan where the home side Al-Hilal were to face Al-Hilal of Omdurman in the first week of the new season of Sudan premier league.

Fans were made to evacuate the Stadium and the match has been postponed to be played tomorrow.
