Sulley Muntari reveals he won't extend his expiring Pescara contract

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari says he won't extend his expiring contract with Italian top-flight side Pescara.

The 32-year-old's contract with the struggling side expires at the end of the season in May having joined the club in January.

The midfielder joined Pescara in January on a free transfer on a six-month deal.

With the club struggling, Muntari says he won't extend his deal when it expires.

"Right now, we are thinking about staying up but then my contract expires and I don't think I will stay at Pescara," Muntari said.

He began his career in Ghana with Liberty Professionals before leaving for Europe in 2002, and has earned 84 caps with the Black Stars, boasting of 20 goals.

Muntari joined AC Milan in January 2012 where he made 70 appearances in the Serie A and scored 11 goals.

The 32-year-old previously represented AC Milan, Inter Milan and Udinese in Serie A as well as Portsmouth in England.

Muntari was without a club since leaving Saudi Arabian side Ittihad Jeddah at the end of the 2015-16 campaign before clinching the move to Pescara.

He last played for Ghana at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
