The Black Stars B victory in Cape Coast silenced the entire Nigeria and particularly disappointed President Mohammadu Buhari who was waiting for the trophy.

A brace from Sarfo and a goal each from Winful Cobbinah and Atinga ensured the host won 4-1 on the day.

That was the first time Nigeria had conceded a goal in the competition and it came as a bitter pill to swallow as goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa let in four goals in 90 minutes.

Earlier on NFF general secretary had informed the team of President Buhari’s desire to get one over their rivals in a desire that would have been of huge financial benefits to the players and the technical team.

Perhaps Ghana's group stage defeat to the Super Eagles was a blessing in disguise to the stars who looked possessed from the first minute with revenge the only mission on their mind.

Ghana’s challenge was made much higher as the Super Eagles were undefeated in the competition and were booked as overwhelming favourites to lift the trophy.

Now President Buhari will now have to wait and see if the Eagles will qualify for the World Cup and may be going on to be the trailblazers of Africa in Russia 2018.
