Super Falcons to camp in Ghana for African Women's Championship

Nigeria's Super Falcons will hold a one-week training tour in Ghana ahead of the 2012 African Women's Championship in Equatorial Guinea.

The team are due in Accra on  on Thursday, October 18 and will two friendly matches.

Falcons coach Kadiri Ikhana will lead the team for a record seventh time.

He led Enyimba to their first Caf Champions League title win in 2003.

Nigeria Football Federation director of competitions Dr Mohammed Sanusi says the training tour should fortify the squad to defend their title.

"The Super Falcons are important to Nigerians and the NFF, we're working hard to ensure that they retain the AWC title," Sanusi said.

"We'll give them quality training, and I think Ghana is a good place to go to and play quality teams.

"We'll mobilise people to support the team when they play their matches in Equatorial Guinea. We want them to feel the support of the whole country."

The Super Falcons won the last African Women's Championship in South Africa for a record sixth time.
