Dijon: Suwon Samsung Bluewings of Korea Republic will be heading to the 2017 AFC Champions League without the services of national midfielder Kwon Chang-hoon who has transferred to French side Dijon FCO.

Kwon began his career with Suwon’s youth team in 2010 before advancing to the senior side in 2013 where he contributed 18 goals in 90 matches. The 22-year-old was also part of the national squad for all age groups and is currently with the senior national team.

The Dijon-based club was promoted to the highest division, Ligue 1, after finishing second in Ligue 2 last season, and now look to Kwon to push the side forward during the ongoing season.

Suwon qualified for the AFC Champions League 2017 after claiming the Korean FA Cup title in 2016 and will face Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale in their Group B opening fixture on February 22.
