The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Kwabena Yeboah remains in an incredulous state over the proposed reforms by the Ghana FA aimed at transforming football, hoping the reforms can be well implemented to achieve the needed results.

In the wake of several calls that the Ghana Football Association must mandate an independent body to run the Premier League, the ExCo of the GFA proposed that an independent board to be constituted with experts employed to run the league.

The proposal which has been lauded by many has also attracted the affection of the SWAG President who can only hope the proposal can really works.

“In recognizing the importance of the Premier League, they have decided to come up with a format that has a board at the helm, regular personnel working on daily basis and I want to believe that professionals are going to be employed to handle it.

“Again, I want to believe that in the wisdom of the FA, this is an enhanced format of what has pertained over the years and I can only hope that it’s going to be better,” Kwabena Yeboah told the media after the summit.

“… we can only hope that this format works because we have not dealt with it before. So as it is we can only hope and pray that this becomes a massive improvement over what we’ve been employing over the years,” he added.

Most of the major proposals by the ExCo of the Ghana FA are subject to approval by Congress, the highest decision making body of Ghana football, scheduled for January next year.
