Swansea City coach boss Garry Monk has played down fears over the health of his Andre Ayew following a nasty incident that left the Ghanaian playmaker bloodied in the English Premier League over the weekend.

According to the trainer his utility player is recovering well after the injury he suffered during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Everton.

Ayew was in the wars against the Toffees as a clash of heads with Phil Jagielka left him with a busted nose that required plenty of treatment to help stop the bleeding.

The forward went on to have a quiet came as the Swans fought out a 0-0 draw which prompted fears that it might have severely affected him.

But Monk says Ayew is showing no ill-effects from the clash.

"Andre is fine," Monk said.

"He got a gash across his nose and maybe it distracted him on Saturday, but he is strong and he has been fantastic. He dug in and did his job."

Ayew will return to action for the Swans in their next Premier League match this coming weekend.
