Andre Ayew will be playing for Swansea in the upcoming season

Swansea City coach James Beattie says manager Garry Monk is delighted with the summer signings so far – in particular the arrival of Ghana forward Andre Ayew.

The 25-year-old sealed a free transfer move to Swansea earlier last month despite interests from some of the top European clubs.

The Welsh club managed to tie the Ghana international to a four-year deal in what many have regarded as a massive transfer coup.

And assistant first team coach James Beattie says the club’s management are pretty much happy with the business done so far in the off-season transfer market.

“We are pleased with the acquisitions we have got at the moment with Andre Ayew and Kristoffer Nordfeldt, the young 'keeper who has come in to try and push Fabianski,” Beattie said.

“I think they are the sort of players who can come in and improve the squad.”

Ayew has already joined up with his new teammates at the commencement of Swansea’s pre-season activities.

The Ghanaian arrived from French club Olympique Marseille.
