Swansea City Star Andre Ayew has finally opened up on the 2015 CAF Footballer of the Year award, congratulating winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang insisting he respects the decision.

The deputy Ghana captain was beaten to the gong by the Gabon captain despite his stupendous performances for Marseille and Swansea City as well as the Black Stars.

Ivory Coast captain Yaya Toure criticized the organizers as to why he did not win despite winning the Afcon or Dede despite being in the finals of the 2015 Afcon.

But the top scoring Ghanaian midfielder says he respects the decision of the Confederation of Africa Football to announce Aubameyang as the Footballer of the Year.

“I respect the decision of CAF to give the award to Pierre. He had a fantastic season with Dortmund and I congratulate him.

“Yaya is a great player who won the Afcon and has won the award before.

“So for me, I’m still young and have a lot ahead of me to achieve both as a player and with my club and country.

“I respect the decision and commend CAF for their position and how they are developing Africa football,” Andre noted.
