Swansea star Jordan Ayew to miss next three games as club decide not to appeal red card decision

Swansea City say they will not appeal the red card shown to Jordan Ayew during the goalless draw with Huddersfield Town over the weekend.

This means the Swans will be without their inform striker for three crucial games including FA Cup quarterfinal clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Manager Carlos Carvalhal called the decision to dismiss Ayew ‘harsh’ following the draw, claiming he would seek expert advice on whether to appeal the decision.

However, the club have today confirmed that they will not appeal the decision after considering that Ayew could in fact face a further suspension if the FA deem the appeal as ‘frivolous’.

Ayew’s challenge on Huddersfield’s Jonathan Hogg left both players in a heap on the floor but the Ghanaian received his marching orders.

Jordan has been Swansea's best player this term with his performances earning him back to back player of the month accolade
