Swansea's Andre Ayew 'expected to be fit for Stoke clash'

Swansea expect Andre Ayew to play against Stoke on Monday Night Football, according to Sky sources.

The forward pulled out of Ghana's match against Canada on Wednesday after picking up a knock to his knee in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham last time out.

Ayew scored and completed 90 minutes at the Liberty Stadium but did not fly to the US for the game in Washington - which finished 1-1 - as a precautionary measure.

But he is in line to return against Stoke next week as the Swans look to arrest a run of five games without a win in all competitions.

Ayew has impressed since signing on a free transfer from Marseille in the summer, scoring four goals in his eight appearances so far.

The 25-year-old has 66 caps and 11 goals for Ghana since his debut in 2007.
