Malmo FF are interested in signing Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan when he becomes a free agent in the summer, according to reports in the Swedish press.
The 27-year-oldââ¬â¢s contract with German club Schalke expires at the end of the current campaign.
Schalke are not keen in extending Annanââ¬â¢s stay following failed attempts in past transfer windows to offload the Ghanaian.
The ex Hearts of Oak player is said to have been tracked by Malmo coach Age Hariede since his days at Norwegian giants Rosenborg.
Malmo who have qualified for next seasonââ¬â¢s UEFA Champions League following their domestic success last term will be ready to sign Annan especially with no transfer fee to be paid as his contract with Schalke runs out in the summer.
Annan, who had brief loan stints at Vitesse and Osasuna is desperate to get his club career back on track having suffered a prolonged injury.
The 27-year-old has only started making appearances for Schalke this season to ignite his hopes of making Ghanaââ¬â¢s squad for the 2014 World Cup.
