Swedish top-flight side Malmo FF have announced the signing of Heart of Lions teenage striker Benjamin Fadi on a three-year deal.

But the deal will take effect on March 16, 2013 when the Ghana U20 player turns 18.

Officials of the Allsvenskan side were in Accra two weeks ago to discuss his transfer fee.

"It feels good that we can forge such a talent to us over such a long time" Malmo Sporting director director Per Agren said.

"Given his young age, I feel that there is much potential left to develop."

Fadi had a successful two-week trial session at the club and convinced head coach Rikard Norling who extolled his attributes.

"What we did see was a good player, so good that even though we ourselves have many young talented players, so we wanted to tie him to us," Norling said.

"He has all the attributes required to become a great Premier Division player but as I did with other young players, he will get the time he needs.

"When the players are so young, they must be handled with care. At the same time, I think he may well play already in 2013."

Fadi is Heart of Lions leading scorer with six goals in the Ghana Premier League.

The 2013 Allsvenskan will begin on 31 March and end on 3 November.
