There are bright times ahead for the rising Ishaku Konda.

The Wa All Stars centre back had a tremendous weekend as his team went to meet Accra Hearts of Oak.

At only 17 years old, he is already showing himself to be a strong leader at the back.

He has also landed himself in the Ghana Premier league team of the week.

At six foot tall, he showed he has a strong mentality, and won his aerial balls with great confidence and determination.

Konda consistently shows great technical ability in his position for current Ghana Premier League leaders.

He displayed superb defensive skills in the recent match against Accra Hearts of Oak.

Challenging for the ball he clears well, averting danger for the team and ensuring he played his part in a near clean sheet.

His youthfulness only adds to his tenacity on the pitch.

And it seems he has caught the eye of the Wa Allstars General Manager Seth Panwum.

Panwun waxed lyrical about the skills and abilities of the young footballer in the aftermath of their triumph over Hearts.

"I have to give credit to our head coach, Enos Kwame Adipah, for trusting the young boy and playing him. We are all sure he is in [the] right hands I'm sure he will develop into a future Black Stars player,” he added.

With this level of endorsement and support it is expected that Konda is going to make a definitive impact in the Wa All Stars first team.

His youthfulness aids him and ultimately his profile could rise exponentially in the next couple of seasons.
