Team of the Week: Ghana players abroad

Ghanasoccernet.com picks its best performers after a weekend of high-profile displays from strikers Asamoah Gyan and Mathew Amoah in the English and Dutch Leagues.

But first, a summary of how Ghanaian players fared in matches monitored on Sunday.

England:

Asamoah Gyan led Sunderland to dismantle an illustrious Chelsea side at the Stamford Bridge.

Gyan scored his fifth goal for the Black Cats in the Premier League on the 52nd finish in a rip-snorted style.

Spain:

Malaga lifted themselves from the relegation zone with a 1-0 win over Levante.

Winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie played the entire second 45 minutes for Malaga.

Getafe were humbled 2-0 by Valencia at the Mastella. Derek Boateng missed the tie due to suspension.

Italy:

Udinese bounced back from last weekend defeat at Catania to condemn Lecce to a 4-0 defeat at the Estadio Friuli.

Kwadwo Asamoah was assigned a defensive midfield role while compatriot Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu played the last three minutes of the game for Les Zebrette.

AC Milan emerged triumphant in the Milan derby by beating rivals Inter Milan 1-0.

Kevin-Prince Boateng replaced Clarence Seedorf on 73 minute but Sulley Muntari missed the tie to injury.

Genoa posted 1-0 deserved win over Cagliari at away and Richmond Boakye-Yiadom was not with the Genoa side that made the victorious trip.

Norway:

Adam Larsen Kwarasey helped Stromgodet to book Europa League ticket after posting a 2-0 win over lower side Follo in the NM Cupen.

Mohammed Abu also played for Stromgodset.

Russia:

Haminu Dramani was an unused sub for Lokomotiv Moscow in their 1-1 home draw with Sibir Novosibirsk.

Denmark:

Issah Ahmed was at the heart of defence for Randers FC which hammered Silkeborg IF 4-0 in the Danish SAS Liegen.

Enoch Adu replaced Matti Nielsen on the 69th minute when Lyngby suffered a 2-1defeat at the hands FC Nordsjælland.

Netherlands:

Laryea Kingston did not travel with the Vitesse Arnhem in their 5-1thumping of VV Venlo at away.

Kwame Quansah helped Heracles Almelo to a 3-0 home win over FC Groningen.

Germany:

Striker Prince Tagoe sat on the bench for TSG Hoffenheim but defender Isaac Vorsah lasted the entire duration when the were beating Freiburg.
