Team of the Week: October 28-30

GHANAsoccernet.com’s Akyereko Frimpong-Manson picks his team of the week after monitoring Ghanaian players abroad.

Adam Larsen Kwarasey

Despite conceding two goals at Molde, the 24-year-old shot stopper was excellent at the Asker Stadion. He made some wonderful saves to deny the home side and ensured Stromsgodset returned to Drammen with a point.

Samuel Inkoom

Inkoom made defending easy and routine against a side that showed a lot of promise in attack. Despite being red carded, Inkoom was a critical element in keeping a clean sheet at Karpaty Lviv and moved Dnipro to 5th place.

David Nii Addy

The left-back was at his usual best for Panaitolikos. Their victory over Xanthi depended heavily on impact in defence. He run a constant check on the lines and ensured Panaitolikos ended the game with all three points.

Jerry Vandam

The French-born Ghanaian defender pulled a goal back for Caen with a powerful shot from inside of the box. With Caen playing at a man's disadvantage, the on-loan Lille defender showed all his experience and class with an accomplished performance against the leaders.

Jerry Akaminko

The former Heart of Lions centre-back was a strong tower in defence for Manisaspor who held Bursaspor to a 0-0 draw at the Bursa Stadium. He made crucial interventions in the game any time his Ghanaian compatriot Prince Tagoe threatened the goal area.

Anthony Annan

The 'little workaholic man' steered affair from the middle for Vitesse Arnhem who pipped De Graafschap 1-0. Annan hovered in midfield and ensured the relegation-threatened side had no space to operate. Arguably, Annan provided the most pivotal support in Vitesse's game.

Kwadwo Asamoah

Asamoah bossed the midfield as he brought his imposing figure and extraordinary physique to bare. He was difficult to control in the game and combine well with Pablo Armero. Kwadwo is gradually getting to his best.

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie

Winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie scored for Panathinaikos to defeat PAOK 3-1 away on Sunday to take a two-point lead over champions Olympiakos. Midfielders Zeka and Costas Katsouranis exchanged passes and Katsouranis drove to the byline where he cut back to Quincy just outside the area.  Quincy's drive deflected off defender Bruno Cirillo, wrong-footing Halkias.

Andre Ayew

Andre provided great coordination for Marseille with his younger brother Jordan Ayew leading the attack. The 21-year-old's sieging runs and beautiful flares was a decisive factor in the victory. The Dijon defence absolute stood no chance of joining their attack when the fighter was on the flanks.

Ishmael Yartey

Ishmael Yartey was the brightest spot in the Servette-Xamax fixture. His incredible pace and trickery down the left flank and all the promising moves from his side stem from his feet. He levelled the scoring the 42nd minute before setting up his team-mate Goran Karanovic to score the winner.

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom

The young striker proved how prolific he is in front of goal. His 14th minute strike helped Sassuolo to the summit of the Serie B table. He was just unlucky not to have grabbed a brace in the game.
