Tema Youth have appointed an external solicitor to represent them in a case before the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) as they launch a final legal battle in their pursuit to secure promotion into the Premier League.

The second tier club are contesting the promotion of Dreams FC into the Ghanaian top flight on the basis of using an unqualified player.

Tema Youth have lost all their legal battles at the Ghana FA level to get their club promoted instead of Dreams FC.

They have now resorted to the international court to seek ‘justice’.

The club have paid close to the required $1000 fee to invoke the jurisdiction of CAS.

They have also appointed an external solicitor as they ready themselves for their final legal clash.

“We have filed the case at CAS and paid the required court fee of 1000 Swiss Francs,” Tema Youth CEO Wilfred Osei confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We have always maintained that we want the truth and that is why we are taking this case to the fullest length to get justice.”

CAS will in the coming days seek official defences from the Ghana FA and Dreams FC before considering the merits of the case.

A decision is expected to be made quickly due to the essence of time with the start of the Ghana Premier League fast on the horizon.
