Ghana Premier League leaders Asante Kotoko drew their third game on a row after playing a pulsating 1-1 draw with second-tier side Tema Youth on Wednesday afternoon.

Didi Dramani's men needed substitute Aminu Mohammed to climb off the bench to rescue their blushes after former Ghana youth midfielder Ekow Benson had put Youth ahead in the 40th minute.

Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani paraded new signings Isaac Boakye, Larbi Koomson and Rahim Ayew in his starting line-up but they could not produce an extraordinary performance on the afternoon as Boakye was forced out mid-way through the second-half with injury.

Rahim in particular was far more disappointing as he missed a glorious chance late in the first-half and was replaced Osman Bashirou ten minutes after the break.

Benson's penalty occurred as a result of a persistent pressure on the Kotoko defence.

Jeremiah Akorful, the 2013 Ghana U20 left-back was particularly a delight at the back as he occasionally surged forward to cause problems for the Kotoko defence.

Dramani altered his team after the break and handed playing minutes to Eric Donkor - who took Boakye's place, while Aminu Mohammed and Bashirou were also brought in.

Joseph Addo came in for Soulama while Stephen Oduro was also given a bite of the cherry.

The leveller was good and it had a flash of brilliance.
