Tema Youth unhappy with referee appointment for Kotoko clash

Tema Youth are unhappy with the choice of referee Samuel Sukah for their Premier League tie against Kotoko on Sunday.

The Harbour-Warriors host the defending League Champions desperately needing to pick the maximum points at the Tema Sports stadium.

But officials are not enthused with the appointment of the centre man claiming his close relationship with Kotoko could compromise his fairness.

Deputy Chief Executive Henry Asante Twum wants the referee to be firm and fair to both clubs.

“I have known Sukah for so many years and I can say without a shred of doubt that he has a close relationship with Kotoko,” Twum told GHANAsoccernet.com

“We are human and therefore sometimes good relationship could come in the way of professionalism.

“We’re simply calling on him (referee) to be fair and firm to both parties.

“We don’t want to believe he will come into the game with the result in his pocket.

“He should put his fine relationship with Kotoko behind him and discharge his duties without fear or favour.

The game has generated massive interest due to the history between the two sides.

The Porcupine Warriors manage to sniff a point off Tema Youth last season after both sides drew 1-1.
