Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey was handed a starting role as Atletico Madrid beat Deportivo Alaves who had Mubarak Wakaso on the bench.

Angel Correa replaced Partey in the 46th minute as a 74th minute Fernando Torres goal clinched the win on Saturday.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea striker, connected the winner just minutes after coming off the bench, sliding in Vrsaljko’s cross.
